Le Crotoy

Le Crotoy is also home to a protected natural site with Marquenterre park (bird reserve), a variety of cycle paths and a horse riding centre. It's also the terminus of the little Bay of the Somme train.

Le Crotoy in all seasons
This seaside resort offers the only fine sand beach of the south-facing coastline, and is located to the north of the Somme Bay, only 30km from the hotel.

The ethymology of the Crotoy would correspond to "inhabitant of the sands".

Protected natural site
Le Crotoy also has a protected natural site: Marquenterre Park (bird sanctuary), numerous bike paths, an equestrian center... it is also the terminus of the little train of the Somme Bay.

A particularly rich history
Marked by the hundred-year war, during which the town was alternately under English and French domination, Edward III of England built an important fortress there in 1346, where Joan of Arc, a prisoner of the English, was incarcerated.

It is also the Cité des frêres Caudron, our aviation pioneers. They also set up their first school of piloting.

Many famous people have visited or lived in Crotoy, such as Jules Verne or Colette as well as many painters, with Toulouse Lautrec in particular.
